PRIVACY ACT STATEMENT

Authority: The collection of this information is authorized under the Agriculture and Marketing Act of 1946 and Fish & Wildlife Act of 1956.

Purpose: The SISP allows Seafood Inspection Program participants (Seafood Companies, Seafood Inspection Personnel, System Administrative Staff, NOAA Finance (Billing Data)) to create an account, to update company information including multiple locations, to request certificates, inspections and contracts, and to review and pay invoices. Name, work email address, work address, and financial transactions are collected. Information is shared with the private sector for invoicing and bill payment.

Routine Uses: The Department will use this information to manage seafood inspection activities. Disclosure of this information is permitted under the Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. Section 552a), to be shared within NMFS offices, in order to coordinate monitoring and management of these activities.

Disclosure of this information is also subject to all of the published routine uses as identified in the Privacy Act System of Records Notice COMMERCE/NOAA-6, Fishermen’s Statistical Data.

Disclosure: Furnishing this information is voluntary; however, failure to provide complete and accurate information will prevent accurate invoicing and prompt bill payment.
